Description
Ketoprofen Gel is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve localized pain and inflammation. It is especially effective for arthritis, helping reduce joint pain, stiffness, and swelling when applied directly to the affected area. Because it works locally, it provides targeted relief with less systemic absorption than oral pain medications.
Safety & Use:
Ketoprofen gel is generally well tolerated when used as directed. Apply only to intact skin and avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or open wounds. Wash hands after application unless treating the hands themselves.
Possible Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and limited to the application site, including redness, itching, rash, or a burning sensation. Rarely, increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity) may occur—avoid excessive sun exposure on treated areas.
Caution:
Use with caution if you have a history of stomach ulcers, kidney problems, cardiovascular disease, or are taking other NSAIDs. Prolonged or excessive use may increase the risk of side effects.
Contraindications:
Do not use ketoprofen gel if you are allergic to ketoprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs, or if you have aspirin-sensitive asthma. It should not be used during the third trimester of pregnancy or on damaged or infected skin.
