Aldara 5% Cream

Description

Aldara (imiquimod) 5% cream is a prescription medication used to treat skin conditions like actinic keratosis, superficial basal cell carcinoma, and genital warts.

Imiquimod, the active ingredient in Aldara cream, works by stimulating the immune system to attack abnormal skin cells. It is usually applied topically to the affected area once daily for several weeks.

As with any medication, there may be side effects when using Aldara cream. Redness, itching, burning, and swelling at the site of application are common side effects. Headache, fatigue, and flu-like symptoms are also possible side effects.
